I’ve had a lot of my sites hosted with one particular company for years. Lately though I’ve been unimpressed with them. Nothing to do with the hosting itself - that was always fine - but their control panel was painfully slow and seemed to be getting even slower.
Then yesterday it all came to a head. Their server crashed and all the sites I had with them stopped working. It took me most of the day to get a reply from their support people, who ended up simple saying ‘We are working on it.’
Not very helpful.
A couple of months ago I ‘discovered’ Hostgator - http://www.urlnex.us/hostgator/ - and have been very impressed with them indeed. The offer all the features I want, including more disk space and bandwidth, a really fast control panel and very responsive support. Even better, they are a lot cheaper that my existing company.
My plan was to move all my domains to Hostgator and close my account with the old company. But, as is so often the case, other things took my attention and I only moved some.
Oh how I wish that I’d stuck to my original plan!
Anyway, the old hosting company seems to be working again and I’ve started the long-winded process of moving everything to Hostgator.
Better late than never!

Despite the fact that the weather forecast for this holiday weekend is pretty horrible, right now it is glorious. I’ve just had breakfast in my garden, bathed in almost tropical heat.
Speaking of breakfast, I had something today that I’ve never tasted before: duck eggs.
Don’t ask me how I’ve managed to avoid eating them up to now, but after today they will certainly be a delicacy that I seek out. They were delicious.
Someone once said that the mark of a successful person is to try something new before breakfast every day. Maybe I’m just a late starter, but trying something new FOR breakfast is good enough for me!

I had an official letter from my tax office yesterday that had a very threatening tone.
‘Return the form we’ve sent you before the deadline,’ it said, ‘or face a fixed penalty plus a continuing daily fine.’
Scary stuff. Even more so because I hadn’t got a clue what form they were talking about!
I phoned the tax office and got hold of a nice lady who was very understanding. ‘Yes,’ she said, ‘for some reason lots of people get that letter who haven’t received the form first. It must be a glitch in the computer.’
She agreed to send me the form, assured me that it doesn’t have to be with them until the end of June anyway and told me she’d logged the conversation to prevent any future difficulty.
All fair enough, except for the thought that if this is a recurring problem, why hasn’t anyone corrected the computer yet?
Perhaps it is just easier to employ people to deal with the complaints than to sort out the problem in the first place.

As Monday is a holiday here (and in many parts of the world) there won’t be a Kickstart. I’ve got a very busy weekend ahead and Monday looks like being a good day to recharge the batteries!

Would you consider yourself to be an Internet marketing newbie?
Or perhaps an Internet marketing ‘would-like-to-be’.
I’ve just learned about a new membership site that is aimed right between your eyes.
It is called The Newbie-Network and it is going to be very special indeed.
I say ‘is going to be’ deliberately because it doesn’t officially open its doors until June 5th, but Kim Standerline, one of the brains behind it, has given me the chance to tell you about it early.
http://www.newbie-network.com/index.php?afid=11
That is my affiliate link. I haven’t cloaked, hidden or otherwise concealed it.
When you click on it you’ll go to the prelaunch sales page that tells you all about the many benefits of joining. You will be impressed. I am!
Kim has put together a membership site that gives you everything that you could possibly need to get started in this exciting and lucrative Internet marketing business. And I don’t just mean the information you need. you’ll also get the physical stuff - like website hosting, a membership site script so you can quickly start your own subscription sites, private label materials, a website builder program … you name it, it is included!
But, as I said, the site doesn’t launch until June 5th, so a lot of the content isn’t there yet. The whole kit and kaboodle will be there in time for the launch though - Kim will make sure of that!
So why am I waxing lyrical about a membership site that you can’t officially join for nearly two weeks?
Here’s why. Kim is an old friend on mine and of Kickstart. She and I often sit together at seminars and she travels across half the country to attend my London Lunches. And now she has offered to make a very special deal available exclusively to us.
If you visit Kim’s sales page (it is worth reading even if you aren’t interested in joining) at http://www.newbie-network.com/index.php?afid=11 and decide to join, when you get through to the PayPal payment page you’ll find that Kim has given you a $10 discount - and the reduced price will be locked in for as long as you remain a member!
The payment page will revert to the full price on Monday so this offer is available for this weekend only.
It is a reward for joining the Newbie-Network during its pre-launch phase - and another special deal that you get for reading Kickstart!

Today’s Power Thought
_______________________________________________________
I’ve written about this technique a long time ago, but it is so powerful, and has such a profound influence on your life, that it is right to detail it again.
It is called ‘Conversation with the best.’
Here is how it works - you’ll have to read and learn the whole process before you put it into practice. You’ll see why!
Find yourself a quiet room where you know that you won’t be interrupted for about 20 minutes. Turn off the phone, close the door, find a comfortable chair and relax.
Now close your eyes and imagine that a bright, white light is shining like a foot-wide laser beam right out of the center of your chest.
Don’t worry where the beam is going, just be aware that it is a real and tangible thing that is coming out of your body.
Now allow your mind to leave the confines of your head and attach itself to the beam. Let it ride the light. You will become a part of the light as it shines right out of the room you are in.
Allow yourself to follow the beam of light as it leaves your room, curves slowly towards the sky and reaches right out into space.
Stay on the beam as the sky gets darker all around you and the stars shine brightly everywhere about.
See the Earth turning slowly beneath you, a beautiful blue and white sphere that is full of every potential imaginable.
As you watch the Earth, become aware of another beam of light shining out and coming towards your spot in space. the other beam is every bit as real as your one, but is bright yellow.
The other beam comes from you too. But not the you in the here and now - it comes from the very best you in the very best of all possible futures. It comes from your ultimately successful future self.
When the yellow beam reaches your white one, you can easily move your consciousness from one to the other - so do just that and move over to the yellow beam.
Now, just as you rode your white beam up to space, ride the yellow one back down again.
Watch where it takes you. As you get closer and closer to Earth, see the town that you are approaching. Is it a big city or a tiny village?
See the home that you are zeroing in on. What kind of place is it?
And when you reach the bottom of the yellow beam of light, see the person who is standing in front of you.
Say hello to the very best possible future you in the very best possible future imaginable.
Talk to your future self. Ask how you became so successful. What did you do? What processes did you undertake? What have you learned that you can pass on?
Take as long as you like - time moves at a different pace in your future world.
What attributes does your future you have that you can immediately use in the present?
What surprises you. What delights you?
Your future you will always welcome you and will always help you in any way possible - after all, unless you start to do the things your future you once did, that future will never exist!
When you sense that your time is up, just hop back on to the yellow light and ride it right back up to where it has merged with your white one.
Then, feeling full of exciting, positive energy, allow yourself to travel back down your white beam, back into your quiet room, and into your waiting body.
As soon as your mind returns you will wake up fresh, positive, excited and full of ideas and plans to put your whole life on the right track to create the best possible future you.
Your white beam and your future’s yellow beam will always be connected from now on, merged high above the Earth, looking down on a world filled with hope.
Anytime you want to revisit your future self you can. the path will always be open.
I learned this technique at a seminar a few years ago and it had a profound effect on me. My future self was wearing a bright yellow sweater - something I’ve never thought to own.
But in my mind now, I know that a yellow sweater will feature strongly in my future success!
