Don’t you just hate it when things don’t work out the way you’d planned.

There is an incredible new membership site opening very soon that is going to take the Internet marketing world by storm. I’m embargoed from telling you the details until launch time, but suffice it to say that it will turn everything you and I thought we knew about private label ebook membership sites on its head.

As you can imagine, with just hours to go before launch the owners of this new site are running around like crazy men getting everything tested and working just right. So it was a great coup that one of them has agreed to let me conduct an exclusive interview with him on the phone for an hour later today. I’m proud to say that he has been a good friend of mine for a few years and he has agreed to drop everything as a personal favor.

I must say that I’m very excited about the prospect of getting him to give us some real information about how he uses private label ebooks himself - he is one of the markets power users!

But disaster has struck.

This morning I woke up with a blocked nose and a throat that is so sore I can barely swallow my coffee.

My voice is down to a Kermit-like croak and every word hurts like crazy.

Right now I don’t think I could phone out for a pizza, let alone conduct a probing interview for an hour!

When I contacted the guy to apologize, it turns out that he woke up today with the flu! So he is in no state for long talks either.

The interview will happen, just not today. As soon as we both can utter more than two gravely words at a time I’ll reschedule. Let’s hope that it happens very soon because this is going to be information you’ll really want to know about fast.

I don’t know if this is peculiar to the UK, or just to the bookshops that I visit, but I wonder why they don’t have a rack for new releases in the different genre sections?

For example, I like SciFi and all my favorite bookstores have big SciFi sections, but they never specifically highlight the latest releases. All the books are just displayed in alphabetical order by author name.

Even the tables that you’d think would have the new books out on tend to be filled with really old, classic novels. There might be some new stuff in there, but it is muddled up with everything else.

To some extent the crime section is the same, although the latest big name crime novels do make it to the main new releases racks.

I’m not talking small stores. In the last few days I’ve visited three different branches of Waterstones, a huge Borders and two W.H. Smiths and the problem exists in all of them.

Is there a valid marketing reason for this, or are all the stores in my area missing a trick?

Did you take a look at the site I mentioned on Wednesday that offers a system that can multiply the responsiveness of your sales page? Here is the link again: http://www.urlnex.us/buynowwizard/

What I forgot to mention was that the example shown on that page was intended to demonstrate how the process works, not offer a real price reduction.

A couple of people have emailed me to say that the price was the same even after the ‘process’ had expired. That’s because it was set up that way to show you how it works. On you your own pages, when you use the BuyNow system, the offer would, of course, be real.

The creator of Buy Now Wizard, Rob Toth, has written a special report on the subject of increasing the effectiveness (and profitability) of your sales pages. I’ve read it this morning and can tell you it is very good stuff that anyone who is selling anything online needs to read and absorb.

The report, called ‘Buy Now! How to Get Customers Ordering So Fast Your Bank Account May End Up With a Speeding Ticket.’ is 31 pages long and is filled with useful information that you can use to increase sales, get you more signups and make your Internet marketing way more effective. The information stands alone from the BuyNow script, but naturally it does explain why the script is so powerful for your profits.

I highly recommend this report. You can get a copy from http://www.urlnex.us/buynowreport/

        An Inspirational Thought

I have a list as long as my arm of things I have to do. But I am approaching that list with energy and enthusiasm.

Not everything on my list is a thing that I particularly want to do, and I am sure that you have lists of jobs (whether written down like mine, or bouncing around inside your head) that include tasks that you dread. But I’m even enthusiastic about those less-than-interesting ones - if only to finally cross them out and mentally move on.

I like to hold the view that my work list is a list of successes waiting to be realized.

When you look at every job and chore like this, you are so often AMAzed at how the dullest task can often spark something else that is wonderful.

So let’s get on and find the wonders - they are all there, waiting for us to dig them out!

    Today’s Power Thought

Are you one of those people who says, ‘I work better under pressure’ or ‘I get my best work done when I’m facing an urgent deadline’?

Don’t be fooled.

We all find the adrenaline rush that comes from being right up to the wire can bring out the best in us, but it is a deceptive best.

Last minute pressure forces you to focus, and that IS a good thing, but unless you have done the groundwork and preparation, you have nothing to focus on.

In my years in business I’ve seen (and been) three types of people:

The ones who do things so far in advance that they are stale by the time they have to perform.

The ones who leave every job until the last minute and then wonder why nothing goes well.

The ones who SEEM to leave things until the last minute, but in actuality have spend the longest time researching, planning and mentally preparing.

The last group are the ones who tend to be successful. Their presentations are focused, interesting and cover all the important points. Their reports are complete. Their work is consistently to a high standard.

But people who haven’t observed their modus operandi make the mistake of thinking that they have left it all until the end.

These people are like icebergs. The flurry of activity that you see masks the 90% of concentrated effort that they’ve made to ensure that the 10% at the end is totally on track.

Too many folks rely on their brains to jump into a higher gear as panic sets in, but you know what happens if you put a car into a higher gear when the engine isn’t running fast enough … it stalls.

So next time you have a big job looming, don’t stall in the final straight. Start thinking, taking notes, doing research right now. Build up speed in your engine so that when the time is right you’ll be able to switch on overdrive and fly past your competitors.

        Fascinating Facts

During my recent vacation in Italy, my skin turned a little bit brown. Not much - the locals still laughed at my whiteness, but if I took off my watch you could see some evidence that I’d been in the sun!

Of course, not long after getting home, all that nice color started to fall off.

I wasn’t burned, so I didn’t peel off huge strips of flesh, but it did flake away.

So here is today’s useless fact:

The skin that flakes or peels off after you have been in the sun is called blype.

I didn’t know that - and I bet you didn’t either!
