Greetings!

As I write this, England is being lashed by a storm - the biggest
one this winter with gusts of wind over 80 mph. It started in the
middle of the night and is still blowing hard at 6.30 this
morning.

There is all kinds of stuff flying around in the road - trash
bags, trash cans, and hundreds of plastic bottles. How stupid can
people be? This storm has been forecast for days. We knew it was
coming and knew, almost to the minute when it would arrive. This
morning is regular collection day for recycled plastic bottles so
it appears many of my neighbors put out their recycling boxes
last night before they went to bed. Now, of course, the wind has
recycled them all into clattering missiles that are flying around
with abandon.

Sometimes I despair at people’s inability to think things
through!

Friday’s Kickstart never happened. Don’t panic - yours wasn’t
eaten by a filter or blocked by an over-zealous ISP. I just woke
up on Friday morning with one of those black day feelings.

I used to get days what Winston Churchill called black dog days
about once a month - days when nothing seems to matter and you
can’t be bothered with anything. I hasten to call them
‘depression’ because in my mind that is something far worse and
more prolonged. Normally my black days are over and done with in
24 hours and cause me little more problem that an enforced day of
rest! Recently, however, they have become much less common and
less severe, so Friday’s episode came as quite a surprise.

It was also my daughter Lauren’s 18th birthday, so maybe it was
the thought of all that money being sucked out of my bank account
that tipped me over the edge!

Anyway, I’m fine now and raring to go again.

Lauren did have a really nice birthday, but it ended up being
marred somewhat.

She took a few friends up to London to go to a nightclub,
legally, for the first time. Sadly, while she was there a b@$t@rd
pickpocket ‘dipped’ her handbag (which was zipped shut at the
time) and stole her cellphone and about £50 ($100) in cash. One
of Lauren’s friends also had her camera stolen.

Not a great ending to the day - or a particularly happy memory
for her to hold of her 18th.

A quick tip for you if you bought Neil Shearing’s 10 Day Cash
Secret. In the directions, Neil recommends TradeDoubler as a good
source to get datafeeds from. I agree with him - TradeDoubler has
a really wide range of companies on its books and there are some
real gems that you can sign up for.

However, I’ve found that almost all the companies I’ve applied to
be an affiliate for through TradeDoubler have a lengthy approval
process. Out of the 12 or so that I’ve applied to join, only two
have approved me so far - the rest are still ‘under
consideration’.

When you buy a new program like Neil’s, you don’t want to wait a
week or more before you get started. Not only do you lose your
impetus, but it’s just plain annoying.

So I looked around at some of the other affiliate management
companies that Neil suggests and have found that
AffiliateWindow.com is excellent. All except one of the ten
companies I’ve applied to join have approved me instantly, and
downloading the datafeeds is a breeze.

One of the blogs I created on Thursday has, according to my stats
program, had 41 unique visitors already and 915 visits from
search engine spiders. Not a bad start!

Incidentally, Neil’s 10 Day Cash Secret is still available at a
35% discount - but only, I believe, until later today. If you
haven’t bought it yet, today’s the day to do so.

Trust us!

Saturday evening we thought it would be nice to take Lauren and
Charlotte out for dinner to celebrate the end of their birthday
weeks. So we drove over to the O2 Arena (the giant tent formally
known as the Millennium Dome) where they have dozens of
restaurants.

When we arrived we vaguely noticed that it was
uncharacteristically busy. The place was packed.

Then it dawned on us that every restaurant had bouncers on the
doors - something we haven’t seen there before. And more …
every restaurant was full to bursting with long lines outside.

Finally, we noticed that everyone in the lines - and everyone we
could see inside the restaurants - were men. There were virtually
no women to be seen anywhere. Delia and the girls started to feel
quite out of place.

But why? What on Earth was happening?

It turned out that we had picked a night to go to the O2 arena
when it was hosting one of the biggest boxing matches to be held
in the UK for years - and it was a sellout!

Rather than fight with rampant, over-excited testosterone to get
a table to eat, we all decided that we’d rather go to the cinema
instead, which is exactly what we did.

And in the process ended our run of terrible films.

We saw the new Uma Thurman and Colin Firth movie, ‘The Accidental
Husband’. It is romcom of the first order. Unashamedly formulaic
and predictable, but well acted, well directed and a lot of fun.

I’d highly recommend it for an ‘easy’ night out.

Don’t, however, do what we did and get sat next to a pair of
Russian women who talked all the way through the movie. I think
that one of them was translating it for the other, but despite
several requests from me and others to them to keep quiet, they
ignored us and kept up their dialogue.

It is a testament to the attention-holding capacity of the film
that they didn’t really spoil it for me - they were just darned
annoying.

This could be the start of a great week. Or not. It’s up to you.
How many plans, aspirations and dreams are in your personal
pending file?

What better time to dig them out, dust them off and get started
on just one of them?

This could be the week your dreams come a little closer to coming
true.

Today’s Power Thought
_____________________________________________________

What are you avoiding today?

Be honest. What task is on your list (or in the deep recess of
your mind) that you KNOW you should do, but that you’ve been
putting off forever?

We all have a seemingly endless supply, so don’t feel bad. But
don’t allow that to make you complacent either.

It is called procrastination - the putting off of the inevitable
to the point where it becomes uncomfortable.

Wouldn’t you rather be comfortable though?

However bad a job may seem to you, if you know that you’ve got to
do it eventually, you’re just kidding yourself by keeping on
delaying. And, in the process, poisoning the rest of your life.

I call those jobs that we know we HAVE to do, but will do
anything else to AVOID ‘anchor’ jobs. They are like a huge anchor
holding a ship in place.

Each one that you have is holding you back - anchoring you in the
mud - and preventing you from enjoying the good things around
you.

It’s time to haul up your anchors.

Make a point of stopping avoiding ONE thing today. Face it, deal
with it and move on.

And tomorrow there will be another anchor job for you to turn
your attention to.
