Greetings!
Thanks to everyone who has emailed to send congratulations to
Lauren on passing her exams and getting a place at University.
I’ve passed them all along to her and she is very grateful.
Right now though, after a heavy night of celebrating with her
friends, she is dead to the world and is unlikely to emerge from
her pit until later this afternoon!
Oh to have the stamina of teenagers again. And the ability to
sleep endlessly!

It is a gloriously sunny morning here – a fact which makes me
feel quite guilty!
You see, ever since we got back from vacation it has rained
almost every day, so I haven’t been able to do much work on the
garden. And those pesky weeds are flourishing. Today looks like
being the first day for a while when gardening would be a real
practical proposition, but Delia and I are heading off to London
in search of a new London Lunch venue.
Oh well – the weather forecast for the weekend is pretty lousy,
but let’s hope they are wrong. It wouldn’t be the first time!

The exchange rate between the Pound and the Dollar has plummeted
in the last couple of days. Whereas it has been hovering at
around $2 = £1 for the last year, the rate has suddenly dropped
to $1.85 = £1.
As I earn all my income in US Dollars, but have to convert them
all to Pounds to spend them, that equates to me getting an
instant 7.5% raise!
It’s about time – when I started Internet marketing I was getting
$1.40 to £1, so the ‘drop’ to $2 has made me 30% worse off in
real terms.
It’s one of those things that you don’t think about when you
start Internet marketing – especially if you are not a US
resident. As most transactions online take place in US Dollars,
your income is constantly variable according to the vagaries of
the international exchange rates.

The subject line of today’s Kickstart is ‘Knowing what to do
after you’ve done it.’ I chose that deliberately because it summs
up the importance of one of the books I recommended earlier this
week.
I’ve had a few emails from folks who are thinking about buying
the excellent ebook I recommended on Monday – ‘You Can Make Big
Money Writing Little Books’ by Mike McMillan.
The over-riding question seems to be ‘will it help me even if I’m
not a writer?’
The answer is yes and no.
It WILL help you to learn to write better, but it won’t teach you
how to write if you haven’t ever put pen to paper before. It does
assume some writing skill.
It will NOT tell you what to write about – although it will help
you to assess your topic and decide whether to follow it through.
‘You Can Make Money Writing Little Books’ is essentially a manual
that teaches you how to profit from your work once you’ve created
it.
And it does that job brilliantly.
Believe me – knowing how to turn a Word file into a profitable
product is a skill that is vital to learn. The actual writing of
the book (or report) is the easy part – it is knowing what to do
next that makes all the difference.
For every person who has a book out there for sale, there are
probably 99 who have a book sitting on their computer that will
never see the light of day – or turn a profit – because the poor
author has no idea what to do next.
And even among the people who DO have their books out there for
sale, the vast majority will never make anything like what they
should because they simply don’t know how to maximise their
work’s potential.
Mike McMillan has written an published dozens of books and knows
exactly what you need to know. ‘You Can Make Big Money Writing
Little Books’ teaches you all that vital information in an
accessible, witty, entertaining way.
It really is about knowing what to do after you’ve done it.
Don’t be put off by the 436 pages – it is a surprisingly easy
read.
And of course, never forget that as it is sold through ClickBank,
if you are not 100% delighted, getting a refund is easy.

The Quote of the Day
______________________________________________________
Helen Hayes said,
“My mother drew a distinction between achievement and success.
She said that ‘achievement is the knowledge that you have studied
and worked hard and done the best that is in you. Success is
being praised by others, and that’s nice, too, but not as
important or satisfying. Always aim for achievement and forget
about success.’”

Today’s Power Thought

Rules for being Human.
by Dr. Cherie Carter-Scott
You will receive a body.
You may like it or hate it,
but it’s yours to keep
for the entire period.
You will learn lessons.
You are enrolled in a full-time,
informal school called life.
There are no mistakes, only lessons.
Growth is a process of trial, error
and experimentation.
The “failed” experiments are as much
a part of the process as the experiments
that ultimately “work”.
Lessons are repeated until they are learned.
A lesson will be presented to you in various forms
until you have learned it.
When you have learned it,
you can go on to the next lesson.
Learning lessons does not end.
There is no part of life that doesn’t
contain it’s lessons.
If you’re alive,
there are still lessons to be learned.
“There” is no better than “here”.
When your “there” has become “here”,
you will simply obtain another “there”
that will again look better than “here”.
Other people are merely mirrors of you.
You can not love or hate something
about another person unless it reflects to you
something you love or hate about yourself.
What you make of your life is up to you.
You have all the tools and resources you need.
What you do with them is up to you.
The choice is yours.

Fascinating Facts

A bible was published in England in 1632 that had one small but
very significant error.
It missed out the word ‘not’ in the seventh commandment.
In case you are not on top of your bible studies, the seventh
commandment is the one that should say, ‘Thou shalt not commit
adultery.’
This particular edition soon became known as ‘The Wicked Bible’.
What a shame it wasn’t the tenth. I quite fancy my neighbor’s ox.
