Greetings!

The Olympics have finally got exciting for me!

Well done to Team GB, who have now managed to reach 3rd place in
the medals table, behind China and USA.

Damn! I just rechecked and those pesky Aussies have overtaken us.
Temporarily I hope!

As a non-sporty person, who doesn’t like to watch sport of any
kind on TV (let alone take part) even I have enjoyed seeing our
cyclists, yachtsmen and women and rowers give their all.

If ever there was a living example of fact that action is
required to bring dreams to life – it is embodied in Olympic
sports people. Those guys and girls are absolutely incredible -
whether they get a gold medal or come last in their heats.
Imagine the action they must have had to take just to get there.
To be deemed good enough to represent their country.

I know that medal success seems to dominate the Olympics these
days and the old Olympic doctrine of ‘its the taking part that
counts’ is at best ignored and at worst derided. But I still
take my hat off to every single member of every single team -
whether they stand a chance of a medal or not. Without each and
every one of them there wouldn’t be an Olympics.

One or two will achieve a special kind of success that is
rewarded with a medal, but the vast majority will take part,
enjoy the experience, stand no chance of ‘winning’ but will
still, in my eyes, be a hero.

Think about it – according to official figures there are 10,308
athletes taking part in this year’s games.

Out of a world population of 6.6 billion, only 10,308 are chosen.

That’s incredible success no matter what the results.

Peter Woodhead’s Million Dollar Publisher Course

About a month ago I put on a free webinar (an online seminar)
with my friend Peter Woodhead.

In it, Peter explains about public domain – what it is, where to
find it, how you can be sure something you have found IS in the
public domain, and how to use it to make almost unlimited
profits.

If you haven’t seen the webinar yet, please check it out at
http://www.urlnex.us/webinar1/ – it is completely free-of-charge
and is a very good use of an hour of your time.

[Note: following some bandwidth problems, that URL may no longer be effective.]

Within the webinar itself, Peter mentions his new 52-week course:
Million Dollar Publisher. Note that I say ‘mentions’. It is
certainly not a hard sell and doesn’t in any way detract from the
60+ minutes of solid gold content.

Peter’s Million Dollar Publisher course is the result of a huge
amount of work on his part. And it shows.

Before I go on to tell you more about it, first let me explain
about Peter. He was one of Yanik Silver’s first mentoring
clients. In effect, he was Yanik’s ‘apprentice’ and as a result,
he learned more about Internet marketing in a relatively short
time than most of us every manage to discover! An education like
that has a big price tag, but it is a mark of Peter’s commitment
to succeed that he gladly paid the price.

And succeed he did. In about three years, he has become one of
the leading experts on public domain – and has taught many
people, at many seminars, just how to go about finding and using
it profitably.

He uses public domain books for himself – and is now more than
happy to share his knowledge with others.

When he first told me about his new Million Dollar Publishing
course, I wasted no time and signed up.

You may ask why I’d bother, since public domain is only a small
distance away from private label – and I’ve written what many
people have said is the definitive book on profiting from private
label ebooks. Surely I wouldn’t learn enough from Peter’s course
to make it worth the monthly cost – even though that cost is way
too low (in my opinion).

You’d be surprised.

Public domain is different from (substitute ‘to’, or ‘than’
according to which version of English you subscribe to) private
label. Some of the differences are subtle, but understanding them
is very important if you want to succeed.

Also, I believe that no matter how much experience I have, and
how ‘good’ at something I may be, there is always room to learn
from someone else. Particularly when that someone else is better
at it than I am!

So I did sign up for Peter’s course and by goodness have I been
impressed at the depth of knowledge he shares and the easy way
that he imparts that knowledge in bite-sized chunks.

The course itself is in 52 weekly parts. When you subscribe to
it, you know that your subscription will come to an end in 52
week’s time. There is no hidden continuity beyond that.

So far, I’m up to lesson #8 – and already I’ve received 4
unadvertised bonuses! So you can be sure that Peter is absolutely
determined to over deliver.

But what about the lessons themselves?

As you’ve probably worked out by now, success at Internet
marketing means mastering a collection of a lot of different
disciplines and skills. The seeming confusion of all the
different elements is what holds many (make that most) people
back from even starting!

Peter’s course simplifies the learning process for you by talking
you through one thing each week. You’ll learn what it is you are
about to learn, why it is important, how to do it properly and
how it fits in with other things you already know or are about to
be taught in future weeks.

And is all done in clear language and without any fluff or
waffle. The current lesson (for me) is week #8, and that covers
the decisions you have to make between making your product a
physical one, or downloadable, and whether to sell it online or
off. It does all that – and sets you two assignments for the week
- in about 12 pages.

Note that when you join, you will start at lesson #1 – it sounds
obvious, I know, but some people have assumed that you have to
play catch up.

I’m a fairly advanced marketer, but I’ve got something from each
and every lesson I’ve received – and look forward to their
arrival like clockwork each week.

If you are newbie, or someone with a little knowledge and a lot
of confusion, prepare to have the shutters lifted from your eyes
and the fog sucked out of your brain.

There are lots of courses on how to ‘do’ Internet marketing
available. Some are absolute rubbish. A few are good. Peter’s
Million Dollar Publishing is one of the best.

Since writing last week about how the Kickstart forum is very
quiet and needs an injection of new people posting, I’m a little
surprised (and more than a little disappointed) that only three
new people have subsequently taken the time to register with the
forum – and none of them have made a single post!

I read on a different forum recently a post by person, who is
quite active there now, saying that for a long time he was scared
to register and post because he thought forums were for nerds and
he didn’t feel comfortable joining in. Needless to say, when he
did pluck up the courage he realized that forums are nothing of
the sort. Registering is just a formaility (so when you post, you
always post using the same screen name) and the benefits of
taking part far outweigh the perceived fears.

I really hope that you will come to the forum and start joining
in. But I’m not going to labor it any more.

If it isn’t wanted, so be it.

I see that while I’ve been writing this, Team UK is back at #3 on
the league table again. :)

Today’s Power Thought
_____________________________________________________

Another week begins.

Thus is the 33rd Monday of the year so far.

Isn’t it incredible to think that 63% of 2008 has already gone
and what have you achieved?

How many of the hopes and dreams you had for this bright shiny
new year have you made come true?

How many of your resolutions have you made come to pass?

How many of your ambitions have you made come to fruition?

If you are anything like me – or 99.9% of everyone else – if you
answer any of those questions absolutely honestly, you will come
up short. You will be lacking. You will have made very little
happen this year that is much different to last year.

Note the emphasis on ‘you have made’.

Achievement of goals, dreams, aspirations, ambitions, hopes,
resolutions – whatever you want to call them – always comes down
to the efforts you personally make to bring them to life.

A dream without action is a dead thing. A dull thing. A nothing.

Don’t feel too bad. I’m as guilty as you are. And this year I’ve
probably been more guilty of failing to take actions on my dreams
more comprehensively than ever before.

But seeing that almost two-thirds of the year has now gone by -
lost forever – has reminded me that action is vital.

Vital – now there is a word. We use it in a floppy, imprecise
way, intending to convey a sense of urgency. If something is
vital, we mean it is a bit more than just important.

But the word has a much more crucial meaning.

My dictionary defines it as: “being a manifestation of organic
life: supporting, or necessary to, life: life-giving,
invigorating: characteristic of life, or of living things:
animate, living: full of life: lively, energetic: capable of
living…”

Now plug those meanings of the word vital back into “action is
vital” and you get a whole new idea.

It doesn’t mean that action is ‘just’ important. Of course it is
important, but what it really means is that action breathes life
into whatever it is the action is for.

Action without an objective is like treading water. You’ll stay
afloat, but you won’t get very far.

Action that is vital, life-giving, invigorating means swimming
closer to your dream – a dream that now has a life of its own.

Perhaps you are one of the few who has made progress in 2008, in
which case I take my hat off to you. But more likely you are one
of the millions, like me, who has been treading water, waiting
for something to spur us into action. Vital action.

There is no point waiting until 2009. There is no point waiting
until next week. Nothing outside of yourself is likely to change
significantly to make it a better time for you to start the vital
task – the life-giving task – of making your dreams a living
reality.

It’s time to wake up, stop treading water and start living.

Fascinating Facts

How words change their meaning!

The word sycophant, in modern parlance, means ‘a flattering
parasite, an informer’. In less dictionary-esque speech, ‘one who
suck up’.

But the root of the work literally means ‘fig indicator’ coming
as it does from the Greek sukon, meaning fig, and phantes,
meaning ‘one who shows’. A sycophant was a person who covertly
uncovered dealers in stolen figs and reported them to the police.
