Greetings !
On Friday I shamelessly asked if you would put your hand in your
pocket to give to my Christmas appeal and I’m delighted to be
able to report that many people responded generously.
My thanks – on behalf of the Rotary Club of Sidcup and all the
many charities across the world that the funds we raise support -
go to everyone who has donated so far.
http://www.rotary-sidcup.org/christmasappeal.htm
But the sad fact is that while a lot of people have been very
generous, an awful lot of Kickstart readers haven’t given yet.
All through the year I get emails from people telling me how much
they love Kickstart, but that they are not Internet marketers and
so feel bad that they don’t buy anything I recommend. I always
tell them that it doesn’t matter – but now, here is an
opportunity for every Kickstart reader to show their appreciation
in some small way.
It doesn’t take a lot. If everyone who reads Kickstart today
gives just $5 – an amount that I’m sure everyone can afford – the
result would be phenomenal. A real difference would be made.
I’m hoping, of course that you can afford to spare a bit more
than $5, but everything counts.
When we are collecting round the streets, a child who puts 10
pence in the bucket is every bit as generous as an adult who puts
in £20. And thanked just as warmly.
So please, give a little or a lot today. Whatever you can afford.

I’ve been asked a few questions about the appeal, the Rotary Club
and the process of donating, so I’ll try to answer them all here.
“Who benefits? What charities does the money go to?”
Each Rotary Club chooses its own list of charities to support.
That list changes each year according to need. A lot of the money
we raise goes to big charitable projects (such as the lifestraws
appeal, and shelter boxes that are paid for and shipped to
disaster zones all round the world when natural tragedies
strike). But a huge amount is also donated to small charities -
some local, some national and many international, for whom
donations of a few hundred pounds make a vast difference.
At Sidcup, our club has just over 50 members, but we are
incredibly active in raising funds to pass on to the many
charities we support. The Christmas collection is the biggest
single enterprise, involving the entire club membership for the
whole of December, but money is raised at other events all year
round.
Over the last 18 months, the Rotary Club of Sidcup has raised and
distributed more than £57,000 ($85,000). At the last count, 62
individual charities and organizations have benefited. A full
list of who has received money from us is now on the donation web
page at http://www.rotary-sidcup.org/christmasappeal.htm
“Is it true that there are no admin costs?”
Absolutely. Rotary is a voluntary organisation and we make no
deductions from the money we raise for charity. Everything that
comes in, goes out again without deduction.
“How do I donate – PayPal is confusing.”
I agree, it can be at first.
To start, if you don’t already have a PayPal account, you will
need to register. It is free and only takes a minute or two. Go
to www.paypal.com and look for the orange button that says ‘Sign
Up’. Click it and the next screen asks you to select the region
you come from (from a drop down list) and which type of account
you want. For sending money and making online purchases, a
Personal account is quite sufficient. Click the orange Get
Started button on the Personal box.
Fill in the form on the next page and then your account will be
set up for you. After that you’ll be able to make secure payments
using your credit or debit card.
When you have your PayPal account set up, head on over to
http://www.rotary-sidcup.org/christmasappeal.htm and click on the
Donate button – it’s that easy!
“Does my money go straight to the Rotary Club account?”
Yes. The donation button will put your money straight into the
Rotary Club of Sidcup’s PayPal account which is run by the club
treasurer. I don’t touch the money – in any case, if it came via
me, there would be double PayPal charges to pay, which would be
wasteful.
Please give something today!

The Kickstart IPK (Info Product Killer) user’s forum is going
really well. Lots of folks have signed up already and we
currently have 90 posts in 17 threads.
If you have bought Info Product Killer through my link you can
have free access to the forum too. Just register at
http://www.kickstarttodayforum.com and email me with your forum
username (and proof of purchase of IPK) and I’ll give you full
access.
It’s looking like IPK will be my product of the year for 2008 -
and onwards to 2009! http://www.urlnex.us/ipk/
And if you’ve already joined the forum, come on it and get
chatting – it is a great way to learn.
One thing – a lot of folks sign up to forums using odd names and
strings of characters. That’s fine, but please use your real name
in your post – it is so much more friendly if we know who we are
talking to!

Speaking of favorite products, a new one has launched today from
one of my favorite Internet marketers. Kim Standerline.
For some reason there seem to be several new products all
launching today, but only one has caught my attention and
interest.
Kim and I have been good friends for some years, ever since we
met at one of the many seminars that we have both attended. She
is a full time registered nurse who specialises in back care, but
when she is not doing that, she is a very successful Internet
marketer. In fact, it would be more appropriate to call her a
serial entrepreneur because she has a knack of launching one
excellent product after another.
I asked her recently why she is still working as a nurse, when
her Internet business is booming so much. Her reply is typical of
the kind of person she is. She said that yes, she could easily
give up ‘work’ but she loves what she does, so would miss it too
much.
We hear of nurses leaving the profession all the time, so it is
wonderful to hear of one who still loves it. And even more
wonderful that she can use the Internet alongside her career. It
shows that Internet marketing doesn’t have to be an all or
nothing thing.
Despite being a full time nurse Kim has a really solid reputation
for giving excellent support for her products, so I was very
happy and eager to take a look at her latest – Easy Seller Pro.
I have to be totally honest and tell you that although I’ve had
the product for a week, and have given it a quick review, I
haven’t really put it into action for myself yet. That’s no
reflection of Easy Seller Pro, just an indication that I’ve got a
lot of stuff on the go right now. It is certainly something I
plan to use in a big way come the New Year!
Easy Seller Pro is a shopping cart/E-store program that is
AMAzingly easy to use. Kim and her programmers have taken
traditional shopping carts apart and have streamlined and
simplified every single aspect. The result is a program that you
almost don’t need to read the instructions for! (Although I
recommend you do – if only to make sure you wring every ounce of
goodness from it!)
What I particularly like about Easy Seller Pro is that you only
pay a one-off price for it. There are no subscription payments to
keep on using it, and no recurring fees. And it integrates easily
with both PayPal and 2CO so taking payments on your website is
dead easy.
I will be using ESP a lot in the future, and will write a fuller
review when I have some examples to show you. But for now, I
strongly recommend you take a look at the short introductory
video that Kim has had produced to show the basics of how ESP
works. http://www.urlnex.us/easysellerpro
While I was writing this I heard from Kim that she is adding
three more videos to the sales page that show her business
partner, James Lee, creating a whole site using ESP. Owners of
Info Product Killer may be particularly interested to watch these
videos because there is a good chance that what he is
demonstrating could be very useful indeed in our site building
efforts!
http://www.urlnex.us/easysellerpro
The launch goes live at 2pm Central time later today, but the
videos are available to watch right now.

I’m off to pay some US Dollar checks into my new business bank
account at NatWest. It’ll be interesting to see if they are
efficient in the running of the account as they were in the
opening of it!

Today’s Power Thought
_____________________________________________________
One of the things that holds many of us back from starting new
projects is a nagging fear that we may fail.
Fear of failure is one of those evolutionary traits that is
hard-wired into our brains to help preserve us from danger.
Maybe a caveman needed that trait. After all, if he failed in his
hunt for a sabre-tooth tiger he wouldn’t get a second chance. far
better for him to take the easy, safer option and hunt for a
rabbit.
But we are no longer cave dwellers and by and large, most of the
things we put off wouldn’t result in us being torn limb from limb
if we get them wrong.
Much of our procrastination is created from the self- delusional
belief that we are bound to fail, so there is no point in
starting anyway.
Oddly though, the very things that we think are beyond us are the
things that we ultimately learn to excel at.
The act of pushing our own boundaries raises us to a new level -
most often a level that we never believed possible!
There are only two kinds of failure that you need to fear:
1. The failure that comes from not beginning. This failure is
absolute. Not starting something is a far greater failure than
starting and not succeeding. To fail to even start is to deny
your own potential. And the day you stop believing that you can
be better is the day your life stops progressing.
2. The failure that comes from giving up too soon. At least in
this case a beginning has been made. An acceptance that the world
can be better. But how sad to stop at the first hurdle. The lists
of multi- millionaires the world over is filled with people who
failed once, twice or a dozen times before finally succeeding.
Their dreams remained intact. Their aspirations never wavered.
They learned that failure was not to be feared, rather, it should
be embraced as a lesson learned.
