Greetings!
In 2008 there were 112 editions of Kickstart, plus a couple of
special issues.
Over that time I recommended 37 different products.
Each of those 37 were, in my opinion at the time, excellent and
useful.
Of course, one or two ultimately proved to be disappointing, a
few more have been superceded by other products that may be
better, some have been taken off sale and, in the ever-changing
world of the Internet, some are no longer applicable.
Over the last few days I’ve been going back over the Kickstart
archive and looking to find ten of the products that I
recommended in 2008 that I would still, unreservedly, recommend
today.
It was a tough job. My short list ended up much longer than I’d
hoped at 27. That is 27 products from as far back as a year ago
that are still every bit as useful today as they were then.
But 27 is way too many to include in a ‘best of the year’
summary. I had to delve deeper and work out which ten I either
still use or read today – which ones are my personal creme de la
creme.
It has to be a personal list – and does not imply a negative
reflection on the many great products and services that I’ve had
to exclude. But this little lot are the ones that I would most
hate to be without.
As they say in the best phone-in TV shows, these are in ‘no
particular order’. Honing the list down to just ten was hard
enough without having to put them in order!
Rather than write paragraphs on each one – and make this edition
of Kickstart book length, I’ll give a brief summary of what the
product is, followed by a link to the edition of Kickstart where
I first reviewed it.

Offline Gold by Andrew Cavanagh.
If ever a book was before its time, this is it. It is all about
how to ’sell’ our Internet marketing experience to real-world
businesses, who often have no clue about the power of the
Internet. I know from personal experience that many offline
businesses really need help and are more than happy to pay for
it.
Offline Gold shows you the possibilities and tells you exactly
how to go about profiting from this goldmine.
As we move into much more difficult economic times, I can see the
need for this book increasing.
It was a great buy a year ago and is priceless now.

Harvey Segal’s Ultimate Supertip
Harvey is a crazy guy. He has come up with a brilliant way to
give away his product for free, and still make a handsome living.
It’s clever, it’s neat and you’ll love it.
Not only that, but once you’ve gotten hold of Harvey’s Ultimate
Supertip ebook, you’ll be able to give it away free too – and
make a continual stream of income from doing so.

XSitePro2
Building websites is a difficult business, even for relatively
experienced online marketers. Building them so that they ‘work’
in Internet marketing is skill that can take a long time to
learn.
A few years ago, Paul Smithson decided to create a really easy to
use website building program that was designed by Internet
marketers, for Internet marketers.
The result was XSitePro – and the latest version, XSitePro2,
which launched in 2008.
Even complete newbies can get a well-designed, SEO optimized
website up and running with ease. It is simple, intuitive and
give superb results. I consider that every Internet marketer
should own XSitePro2, that’s how highly I rate it.
As a couple of quick examples of what can be achieved with
XSitePro by a complete newbie, take a look at
http://www.dmwoodworx.com/ – a site built by my friend David.
David has trouble even switching his computer on, so he thought
that building a website was totally out of his reach.
The core of that site was put together in 24 hours – and he
didn’t have to phone me for help once!
Now David has emigrated to America and is putting his knowledge
of XSitePro together with some ideas that ‘Offline Gold’ has
given him. Here is a work in progress of a new site he is
currently building for a relative: http://www.thepoolguyva.com/
Not a bad start for a total novice!

PLRpro
There are private label membership sites, and then there is
PLRPro. This is simply the best.
And recently it has relaunched with so many new features and
benefits that there just isn’t any competition any more.
The core of PLRPro is to provide you with a whole heap of
well-written private label articles. You generally get 40
articles in 8 hot niches each and every month. But it doesn’t end
there. For a start, the articles are supplied in several
languages, so you can start to build multi-lingual sites with
them. You also get graphics, keyword lists, suggested affiliate
programs to monetize them and more.
But the big change recently is that PLRPro has relaunched with
something called Project Green Button – software that allows you
to build websites using your private label articles really
easily.
On top of all that, members of PLRPro also get a free membership
of the owners other project, AMA/ ">Article Marketing Automation – a
system that let’s you post your own articles to potentially
thousands of member’s blogs. The backlink potential is enormous.
Your subscription to PLRPro is incredible value on its own. With
AMA/ ">Article Marketing Automation added on, it is steal.
This is one of the very few membership programs I am still part
of and for anyone interested in harnessing the power of private
label I recommend it unreservedly.

Peter Woodhead’s Million Dollar Publisher Course
Peter is an old friend of mine and a leading expert in using
public domain works to make handsome profits. He is a very
successful online marketer and so when he first told me about his
course, I knew it would be a winner even before I read a single
instalment.
The course is sent to you once a week, by email, for 52 weeks and
builds up to an AMAzing and incredibly useful resource.
I’m now up to lesson #28 and look forward to getting each new one
as it comes out. I’ve also received 13 unadvertised bonuses so
far, so I can assure you that Peter is overdelivering big time!

The Money Tree Challenge by Michael Green
One of the most frequent requests I get from Kickstart readers is
for a step-by-step business plan that they can follow to be
successful in Internet marketing.
Michael Green’s Money Tree Challenge is just such a plan.
Michael lays down a challenge to you – can you make $30,000 in 30
days? It is possible – he’s done it – and The Money Tree
Challenge manual gives you all the information and ammunition you
need to do it too.
Of all the things I’ve recommended in Kickstart, this one can
claim to have generated the second highest numbers of emails
praising it to the skies. The people who have bought it have
loved it – and I don’t remember a single negative comment. And
that says a lot!
I put my review on a dedicated website – and included a unique
one-on-one interview that I conducted over the phone with the man
himself…

Commission Blueprint
Commission Blueprint is a set of videos that explain how to sell
ClickBank products as an affiliate. That may sound fairly dull,
but I can assure you that it is anything but!
There are thousands of products on Clickbank and you can sell
almost any of them for affiliate commissions that are typically
50% or even 75%! With commissions like that you don’t need to
sell many to be making a great living.
Steven and Tim, the guys behind Commission blueprint explain it
all very clearly and give you great tips to maximise your sales
with minimum effort.
A lot of my income comes from ClickBank, so I know that this is
the real deal.
Info products are still a booming market, and that’s ClickBank’s
speciality. Commission Blueprint will show you how to tap this
lucrative market in 2009.

Info Product Killer
Although I only started promoting Info Product Killer at the end
of October it has still generated more positive emails than
anything else I’ve recommended in 2008.
Positive is the wrong word. Excited is more accurate!
Info Product Killer is a combination of PDF documents and short
videos (loads of them) that explain in great detail a really
novel way of building small ‘webs’ of mini websites that are tied
together by a very efficient and effective system of on-page SEO.
If that sounds too technical, what it means is that Info Product
Killer shows you how to build websites that the search engines
absolutely love.
Even better, the people who the search engines happily send to
your sites are highly motivated buyers and so the profit
potential is way more than with regular websites.
I see a lot of new ideas and new products as both a reviewer and
an Internet marketer, but very few products have got me so
excited as IPK.
So much so that I’ve even set up a private section on the
Kickstart Forum for IPK owners to meet and chat (let me know when
you’ve bought through my link and I’ll grant you access).
The methods taught in Info Product Killer will form a big part of
what I do online in 2009, so I can’t recommend it highly enough.
There is more information about IPK in a Q&A report I wrote at:

Micro Niche Finder – Keyword Research Tool
Almost every aspect of Internet marketing needs a good source of
keywords. Keyword research tools have come and gone over the
years – some good and some awful!
Previously, my favorite was a program called Niche Inspector, but
for whatever reason (nobody knows) the owner of that product
stopped supporting it around November 2008 and so everybody’s
installation ceased to work.
As I do a lot of keyword research for articles and websites, I
went hunting for a replacement.
I tried out lots of tools, but none really excited me until I
accidentally discovered a program called Micro Niche Finder.
It is really easy to use, gives excellent results and has a nice
neat screen layout that is a pleasure to work with.
Since I bought it, Micro Niche Finder has been used almost every
day – often many times a day. And the more I use it the more I
like it.
If you are serious about Internet marketing, you will need a
good, reliable, simple to use keyword research tool. Micro Niche
Finder is the answer.

That’s nine. So what is my tenth pick of the year?
Habit Busting
Strangely enough it is a product I recommended back in early
October and it has nothing to do with Internet marketing.
It has a lot to do with you though. (And me!)
The book is called Habit Busting and it gives the best advice
I’ve ever read on how to deal with something that all of us
suffer from: procrastination.
As we move into a new year, with all the hopes and dreams that
are bubbling around in our minds, we have a choice:
We can carry on in the same patterns that we’ve always had,
reacting the same way to the same things – and in all probability
failing in the same way too.
Or we can learn how to change our own behaviors so that we can
meet the challenges ahead with fresh eyes and attitudes and give
ourselves the very best chances of success in 2009.
Habit Busting is a book that you should buy, read and then
re-read. more to the point it is a book you should make part of
your life. Follow its advice now, and make a diary note to
re-read it, and reapply its wisdom every few months.
You won’t change overnight, but gradually you’ll become a
different person. A person who will be looking at the dawn of
2010, in 12 months time, in a whole different and better way.

That’s plenty for you to read and consider for today, so I’ll
stop here.
A more regular Kickstart will return on Friday.
Best wishes,
Martin
